Leonard Cohen: Live at the Isle of Wight 1970 (2009)

Recorded in pristine condition, unlike the concert itself which made Woodstock look like a tiptoe thru the tulips with it's gate crashing and continuing violence. SAMPLES

Italian duo of guitar and drums/percussion. Quite interesting.

Bachi da Pietra, non io

Earlier...another debut album..

Dreamy folk...something along the vein of Bat4Lashes...me like. The sound is sparse and clean.  :thumb:

...Joker's Daughter is the brainchild of London-based folkie Helena Costas and New-York ?ber-producer Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse. ..This is a spacey album that allows the music room to breathe and accentuates the whimsical quality of Costas's lyrics. Her songwriting bears close similarities to Vashti Bunyan, heavy on the hippy imagery and rooted in fantastical tales of knights and talking animals. This may turn some people off but with the freak folk movement in full flow at the moment there is little here that truly jars...The more you listen to The Last Laugh the more you realise that this is a match made in heaven. ..

Pianist/entrepreneur Jon Alberts, the owner of Fu Kun Wu and the attached Thaiku Thai Restaurant in Seattle, Washington's Ballard neighborhood, reveals one patron's assessment of it as "one of the best kept secrets of the Seattle Jazz Scene."..puts his piano chops on display, with Jeff Johnson on bass and drummer Tadd Britton....Apothecary, an excellent piano trio outing, shines a fresh light on some time-tested tunes.
