Samplestis this gong inMental JewelryLive Ed Kowalczyk imho is one of the best song writers to come along. Ive been a big live fan from album 1
With Neo Dada, H?tun and his colourful big band revive their shambolic fanfare and progress further into prog-jazz-watnot land, relentlessly kicking the ghost of Zappa out of the way to make way for their own exotic vision. As ominous electric guitars are placed directly against delicate string work, medieval-sounding themes come crashing on toy pianos and nostrils are dimmed good enough to be credited as instruments, there is, it seems, very little logic in all this chaos....
Pianist Sylvain Chauveau in a long piano work recorded in Chicago in 2008, beautiful lingering tones and melodic development.
"The old jazzers, when you asked them what they were doing, they would say, I just play, man. And that is a philosophical statement."-Derek Bailey
Eluveitie set their sound up with plenty of layers of real folk instruments that intertwine with the metal, which adds a very pleasant and often beautiful mood to parts of the album but also compliments the heavy metal core of the album.
