A little Indian classical music anyone?  Rag Hemant Amsterdam- Nikhil Banerjee (Raga Records CD).  Luminous and atmospheric recording of sitar and tabla;  Alap, a Sarod solo- Ali Akbar Khan (AMMP 2 CD's). Not too shabby neither.  Mark Levinson was hands on with the Akbar Khan recording but the Banerjee recording is my favorite of the two musically and sonically.  Both are live recordings.

Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson.
Damn good sound quality.
Nice slow sax jazz that's perfect for a lazy rainy afternoon with an adult beverage.

Paul....That album is a collection of Al's work in different groups....it's on Cd....don't know if it was released on Lp...

Quote
...the reason Steve Stills is playing on the second side, is because he had to fill in for Bloomfield, due to him being too wasted to continue.  But when Bloomfield was coherent, he was just amazing.

Bloomfield's chronic insomnia was the reason for Stills to fill in on Super Session....later he got hooked on heroin.... :?

Eh, maybe that's why I don't have it on Lp.  :duh:
I've read in several interviews/mags that chronic insomnia was the "official" excuse to the press, but that Bloomfield was too wasted to continue on the second day.  Maybe he wasn't a heroin addict yet, but he was already taking a lot of other drugs by then.  Here's something on Wikipedia:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Session

Ed,
Al Kooper was the Blues Project keyboardist from 1965 until just prior to the Monterrey Pop Festival in 1967 (Gawd, I'm showing my age).
