Thanks Chris. I saw from an earlier post that you were there and heard it live.  :thumb: I saw where this is one of 5 single artist compilations in The Woodstock Experience series. This one, the Airplane, Janis, Santana and I think Johnny Winter. That giant sucking sound you hear is money leaving my wallet

Good listening to you,

Just received a few Clarity Recordings. These are audiophile CDs recorded and mastered very well. No longer in production, but can be found on Ebay. Mostly Jazz with Chico Freeman, Claudia Gomez, Kevin Gibbs, Mary Stallings, Stanley Keiser, Michael Bolivar....Anyone have any more of these?

Chris H.

"To produce the most accurate and natural sound, Clarity Recordings records all of the instruments and vocals with only two microphones. While it is easier to record with a large number of microphones, there is a penalty to be paid in terms of accuracy, transparency and purity of sound. When numerous microphones are used, there are problems with different frequency response characteristics, difficulty maintaining phase relationships and, of course the need for a multi-track mixing console which results in the introduction of numerous additional electronic circuts into the signal path. Clarity Recordings uses only two microphones and balances the sound of vocals and instruments "naturally" by moving the vocalist and various instruments in relation to each other, creating the desired balance. This preserves natural stereo images with correct phase relationships. The result is an almost three dimensional presentation of the musical performance. In order to achieve the highest levels of technical quality, Clarity Recordings uses custom modified microphone electronics and power supplies as well as custom built microphone cables, interconnects, and AC power cords."

Good recordings Chris....besides Jazz....I have this by Harvey Mandel on Clarity....

I didn't know they were no longer in production.... :(

This is the first solo album by Berlin-based guitarist and composer Takeshi Nishimoto. Monologue was recorded in a one-day session in a church in Berlin, the natural acoustics providing a perfect ground for Takeshi's compositions.
