Martin - Elbow has been having more airplay with this latest cd. They are getting popular with the U.S. indy crowd as a result of the single: Grounds For Divorce. It's a very catchy tune. I hear it often on WFUV. Paul

Chris Conner Sings Lullabies of Birdland (Bethleham); June Christy- Something Cool (Capital). Reminising old albums tonite. Got to see CC in a club in Chicago. A guy in the audience requested something made popular by June Christy which I picked up on and Ms. Conner had to politely straigten him out. Bet it wasn't the first time she got this. "All About Ronnie" was a fav in jr high.

My sister found this in her closet when she was cleaning. Never heard of her before. A little to folky for me but worth a listen once.

My college days in the late 60's and the years after were filled with Laura Nyro songs. She was an incredible songwriter and the airwaves were filled with her songs, many performed by groups such as Blood Sweat & Tears, The Fifth Dimension and Three Dog Night. "And When I Die", "Eli's Comin", "Stoned Soul Picnic" are just a few of her songs that were commercial hits for other artists. Her personal style was folky and she was very talented. I have several of her early LPs.
