My wife and daughter giggling in her room. It's not really audiophile quality, but it sure sounds great to me!  :thumb:

Yuself Lateef: Contemplation (1960)

Good hard bop for 1960, samples here.

Cheers,
Robin
That's nice, Robin.  Saw him as part of Cannonball's sextet twice back in the day.  Near enough to the stage once to see that he was wearing white sox.  The brothers I was with had a fit.  Occured to me he may have been putting on hipster convention.  Thought it was funny, anyway.  Still do.  I'm ordering this.  Cheers.

Robin-  Dude, got a message that says you cannot recieve personal messages (temporarily?) so I'm copying this to you here:

Thought I would share first impressions with you using the Bolder dig cable.  You mentioned the Stereovox as having crummy highs from your audition.  They are softer in my system in comparison.  I would point out that these muthas are well broken in.

Right away the Bolder was more holographic in the virtual center channel and the highs are cleaner with clearer info.  They are somewhat dryish, however.  The Bolder is more forward and the leading edge of attack is pristine.  I think that may be the reason for the difference in holography.  I couldn't detect any distortion.

The Stereovox by comparison is more liquid in the mids and below.  Lows are warmer.  It has more color in that respect.  Air or space is a little darker.  Maybe the Bolder will fill out more over the next few days.  The Stereovox is more sensual to me and less hifi as it stands today.  The Bolder is more immediate, however, and that has appeal.

I just got a JVC 24bit K2 remaster of The Planets by Mehta conducting the LA Philharmonic but will wait awhile before listening.  I'll be interested to see how the Bolder stacks up listening to the whole along with the parts.  Samples of the Yusef Lateef disc you posted hooked me right away and am ordering.  Reviews said the remaster is good.

I may buy the Bolder as is cause it has some rightness and is cheap.  Especially if it gets better still.  This must be their entry level cable cause there are no Bybee's in the line.  They jump a ways in price with Bybee's.  You have a lot of experience with Bybee's.  What does their addition do for you in your system?  PM me, thanks.

Hey!

I do have this album also. Surprisingly it is pretty good, especially from a "Supermodel/movie actress" :D

Take care,
