The Stargazer Lilies - Cosmic Tidal Wave (2022)

The last of a nine album run featuring the lovely and ethereal vocals of Kim Field. I discovered her first band Soundpool many years ago and didn't think much of it at the time. I became a super fan a few months ago when I re-listened to "Mirrors In Your Eyes" and especially the song "Kite of Love". I probably played that YouTube video 20 times in a row that night! I had been planning to listen to all of her albums in a row at some point, and I guess today was the day. My favorites: Soundpool "Mirrors In Your Eyes" and The Stargazer Lilies "Cosmic Tidal Wave". Even though they are separated by many years, they share the same bass-groovy vibe linked to a modern shoegaze sound. I love shoegaze, and "Cosmic Tidal Wave" is one of the best I've ever heard.
