patti smith group- Easter (Arista). This is as sonically clean and pure and with dimensionality as rock&roll studio albums get. I only noticed how much so just recently and I have played it probably a couple dozen times since its release

. I'm visiting a friend Saturday morning with the damndest system of anyone I know. He has a SOTA TT with an air bearing radial tracking arm feeding a stand alone volume control (with a DAC) driving one of four vintage tube amps and speakers I am not familiar with nor can recall their name. He shuns pre-amps. He re-cords my records to his computer for playback. This one may shock him for its music and lyrics, I'm sure, but also for its quality. Patti Smith was formerly a lower east side NY poet before this band was built around her. Jimmy Iovine, a man on the prowl for new music in the late 70's, produced and he with his recording partners do a fabulous job. Highly recommended. For the lass, too, if you will permit.
