I hear that...the first time I heard the title track I thought " Good God, they're channeling Roxy Music..." The whole" The Reflektors" vs Arcade Fire thing with the big papier mache heads and the dress codes at shows thing is a bit much. Kind of reminds me of when U2 went off the rails - I never bought a U2 album after Rattle & Hum...I saw them on the last tour but I'm sitting this one out.
As far as the album goes, it needs editing. I know the argument is made about how they're experimenting and pushing boundaries but the second disc is largely unnecessary and the last track is just crap...It's a better-sounding album than The Suburbs but it's not a better album. I think the next one tells the tale for me.
