I didn't realize Opeth had videos out. I have come to love most all of Opeth's collection, including the growly vocals stuff given the backing music is so beautiful and the growls aren't constant, but more dramatic and staccato.

Good call Joshk. I found Opeth about three years ago. They've got an addictive, esoteric quality like no other band I've heard. Very difficult to articulate their music. For those however who show patience with their discography usually get rewarded big time. Their lyrics, production and presentation are simply awesome. I was able to attend a concert here in Buffalo in April. And yes, they are as advertised.

yeah, I started out with Damnation and then Heritage....great but I actually think Ghost Reveries (probably my favorite) and Watershed are better overall albums but do have, and typically start, with growly death metal vocals. I've come to love the albums so much that I don't care at all.

However, musically, I'd put them up there with my all-time favorites, so its worth the tolerance.

I second Ghost Reveries as their best. Followed by My Arms Your Hearse, Blackwater Park and Watershed.
