Yeah,   that's the one   .He is now doen at CFMI ,    not sure   exactly what happened other  than  his contract was up and    it is npt being renewed.  I know his carreer started   back east   ,  then to    manitoba I believe   and he's been  with  CFMI Vancouover for the past 17 years.    He is taking a  few weeks  off   then    looking at his iptions .

Man, I will miss listening to him in the am's

BTW, the "cheers" wasn't in celebration of him leaving,   just celebrating  his career  in general  :)

No, I never thought you were dumpin' on him, Cap'n. He was a big rock jock here in the early Eighties - actually nice to hear he didn't end up going over to the dark side and becoming a talk-radio blowhard like some of his contemporaries like Terry DiMonte did. Actually, of the two guys which took over his morning gig here, one ended up working at the local CBC station and just had his contract allowed to lapse. The other one managed to hang on at Jake's old gig forever with a new partner but he lost his gig a few months ago while they hung on to his partner and built a new morning show around him - guess he had a better Q rating.
The spirit of radio... :green:

Man,  he has  become   a very  well  liked  "celeb"   out   on the west  coast.  Was quite the send off today....    even the  BC Premier showed up at the station

I imagine  he has   lots of other offers but   have a feeling he'll be staying out west.   He and his family are in the middle of building a place  on one of the local  golf couorses
hehe, hope  where ever he ends up going it is for a morning show   and that they have internet radio

Usually  on  Sat am's  they have    the Bro Jake show    but it is   kind of   the best from  the previous week,  hoping  we'll get one more    tomorrow
http://player.rock101.com/    6-10 am pst.  If they have it tomorrow it should be good as it will have all the  stuff from  this week leading up to todays exit
