Boston Pops Christmas Party (original Shaded Dog) that I scored last week when the local NPR station was clearing out some shelves.

The music is not syrupy, the surfaces very quiet, and the recording quality will knock your socks off!

I own their last four: Kill the Moonlight, Gimme Fiction, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, and Transference. As with many other bands I've discovered over the years, Gimme Fiction is where I found them, so it's my favorite. I like Spoon because all their albums are different, and even the individual songs are somewhat unrelated. It keeps things interesting. How they manage to give everything a signature "Spoon" sound is their true genius. I don't have the reviewing vocabulary to break down the individual albums, but in all honesty - if you like ANY of their albums, you'll probably like them all.

If forced I'd rank them in this order:

1. Gimme Fiction
2. Transference (very close to No. 1)
3. Kill the Moonlight
4. Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
