Up, up, up, up, up, up- Ani DiFranco (Righteous Babe Records). No worries, it's a CD. I dunno, man, but I'm thinking this right here is a stone cold masterpiece. Musically, it sounds more spontaneous than rehearsed tho I doubt that is was but that is the case. The way she describes persons, situations, and hope is like a writer of words would, yet she adds music and playing that bring her lyrics to life. The sound is what you might call garage sound and the music and message is entirely the better for it. Most every track is more like a happening than a song. She is a poet in real time and the folks playing with her are so on her wavelength. So spontaneous like and right on time. The girl is fearless and I think she had total control of this call and all it's expression. It's art happening right between your speakers.I think you need to be willing to listen to this loud, but it's clean and acoustic, no worries.
Having a listen now On track 7 now and so far I'm enjoying it. Lestening to it streamed from Rdio and I see they have 20+ of her albums... I'll be checking out a few more
Capitan! Rock and roll. Check out Wang, dang, doodle from the PJ Harvey above. I think you should check out more than that, too, of course.
