Patti Smith - Horses/Horses  ( 2005 )

Legacy re-issue of Smith's 1975 debut album together with a 2005 live version featuring Smith fronting an all-star band featuring Lenny Kaye, Flea, Tom Verlaine and other notables doing the album front to back at the Royal Festival Hall. I would imagine she got a warmer reception than she got the first time she played London on the original Horses tour. The Roundhouse show was packed with a Who's Who of British punk rock including Johnny Rotten who was not impressed. He allegedly walked up to her after the show and shouted: " Horses, horses, horses, horses...HORSESH*T!!!"

Long live rock n' roll.

Interesting.  I saw her live once with her original quartet but don't remember the tunes.  Must have been some from Horses which I own.  Johnny Rotten has no credibilty.  His bass player was a fraud.  Swith has excellent musicians.  Ivan Kral may have been to guiding light of Horses musically.  Rotten was just being anti-establishment and probably a tad jealous.
