Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin I   (original CD release)

Listening on the family room system, which I don't listen to enough. I really do love the sound of my old Allison CD9 speakers - totally different presentation than my listening room  -  more Zeppelin is in your room, rather than you're in the studio with Zeppelin. And for this album that sounds really good.

Went down to the listening room and gave the Classic Records 180g vinyl version a spin, much more detail, space and presence. But strangely I think it adds a layer of "politeness" that doesn't necessarily serve this LP as well. Just didn't have quite the impact and excitement even though everything about it was "better".

Gil Evans Orchestra- Live at Sweet Basil.  Holy shite!  There's Mjosef in the audience headbanging to Voodoo Chile!  You gotta turn this up LOUD else you'll think yer in a hall instead of a club and you won't get sufficient body and weight.  VC is better on The Gold Collection (Fine Tune), IMO, but I'm getting redundant.

Ok, then . . Something Cool- Miss June Christy (Capitol).
