Hi Jim, I don't know how difficult it would be but you might consider adding a mute switch to the Clarinet based line stage.  I have found that most of us do not care about balance control or remote, but I always like a mute.  Just a thought.

Well, count me as one who does like the balance on the Clarinet.  

I don't need tone controls/loudness, etc., and I don't care about a mute, and I probably wouldn't want a remote for the additional cost but different people have different needs...
