I have been shoping for a new cdp i had narrowed the list to
Rotel rcd-1072
music fidelity a3cd
consonancd cd120

Whent to an Audio Store today to listen to a Rotel RCD-1072. I was discusing my short list of cdp's with the owner when he says that he had a cd120 that he had taken in as a trade in. Sayed he didn't like the sound and was not going to put it out for sale, that if i wanted it i could by it for $100 so i took it. To me it sounds fantastic but then agian so did the rotel on the B & W speakers he had it hooked up to

I think you got yourself a steal...

In my bedroom system, I replaced a Modwright/ Perpetual Tech. P3A and Modwright/ Sony 7700 with the Consonance cd120 and felt it to be basically a lateral move.

I found the CD120's 24bit/192KHz sigma-delta upsampling DAC detailed, extended and yet still pretty smooth.

I haven't heard the Rotel, but this CD player is a real contender in its price range. I use it with another Chinese import--the Jungson 88c integrated. Makes for a great partnership.

Ya, I think a steal is probably the right word unless it is broken!  The store probably did not want to put it up against his other machines...
