What are you guys using for "beards" for 626r stands?  I would like to come up with something better than a piece of cardboard that looks halfway decent.  My idea is to chop up some 3/4" mdf I have in the garage, and stain it black, perhaps glass black to match the mls cabinets and use that.  Any other ideas which might be a little more asthetically pleasing?

Painted MDF should work fine.

You don't necessarily have to use a beard. You can also have a larger platform for the speaker to sit on so the woofer becomes augmented by the reflection just below it.  Something sticking out 3" would probably be sufficient.
