Does anyone know why none of the mod guys out there offer a mod for the Krell Standard?  Is it an admission that it cannot be approved upon?  That would have to mean that all the hardware contained is the best available??

I would speculate that the differences would be less, resale value would tank, and the tweaker/DIY attitude doesn't trickle up to that level.

Probably so but still there is room between the MSRP of the Krell and some of the nosebleed mods.  Seems like someone would offer something for the Krell.

I think the main reason may due to the fact that if you have paid that much money for the Krell Standard it shouldn't have to be fixed or modded to be
functioning at it's full potential. A price of four grand should go a long way towards eliminating sonic or engineering compromises in a product like this.
Also I don't belive the Krell brand name is generally perceived as being
sonically compromised, people buy it in part because it's supposed to sound good.
