Thanks to Klaus, a "wasted" day

I had to take some a few days off of work as my accrued vacation hours were getting close to the maximum allowed by my employer. Having no pressing duties or responsibilities I decided to spend the day listening to music. Thanks to Klaus and the great gear that he offers I’ve fallen back in love with music again. A year ago I would have found other things to occupy my time but now I listen whenever the opportunity presents itself.

I currently rip my CD’s to PC using EAC and then to DVD in 24/96 using DVD2one’s Audio Remaster program. My music system is in the other room so I have not gotten into PC audio fully. The DVD’s can hold up to 2 hours of music to I can just sit back in my recliner and let the music play.

Well, today I listened to most of Chick Corea’s “Leprechaun”, “Mad Hatter” and “Secret Agent” plus Return To Forever’s “Romantic Warrior.” Then some Steely Dan, specifically “Aja” and “Gaucho”. Then some Tribal Tech, “Illict” and “Face First”. Then some Dave Weckl with excerpts from “Master Plan”, “Hard Wired” and “Synergy”.  Switched to the SACD of Dylan’s “Highway 61 Revisited”.  Came back with Bill Bruford’s first three solo disks “Feels Good To Me”, “One of a Kind” and “Gradually Going Tornado” before finishing off with Led Zep I, II, and III.

During “Since I’ve Been Loving You” from LZIII it seemed like Bonzo was set up to the right of the right hand speaker. His snare and high hat were wide right while Plant’s voice seemed to just float in the air. Amazing, it was like really hearing it for the first time!

After 14 hours fatigue finally set in. Not listening fatigue, rather I had trouble staying awake in my recliner. Outside of pausing for food being delivered and nature calling it was all music. What a great day! It’s like it was so many years ago, “wasting” a day listening to music.

Loreleis, Stratos Stereo Extreme, TAD 150 pre, Denon 2910 into either a RAM modded Bel Canto DAC2 or a Scott Nixon NOS DAC in a Red Wine Audio chassis (depending upon what was playing).

Zero

Awesome. I lost quite a few hours on the Khartago ...

Since I’ve Been Loving You - what a great song to end a high off of .. or in some cases, to begin one.

Cool stuff guy - keep rockin'.

Gotta love Blodwyn Pig! I still have my old LP's. Maybe sometime you could post about the Lorelies, maybe in comparison to other speakers in your experience? Enjoy the sound...
