cartridge breakin

if i leave my cartridge playing all night on the end of a lp will that help in breakin, or is there a lp made for breakin not being there to restart the lp

My guess is that leaving a new cartridge playing all night at the end of a record won't do too much for burn in.

You need a musical track to get that cartridge vibrating.

hello tabascosauce, i think there is a moody blues lp that has sound that keeps playing at the end, btw if you are ever close to south louisiana, go to avery island home to tabasco sauce its a good tour, and thanks for the reply, mike

Hi beachbum,

The problem with leaving your cart on the leadout groove all night is that - although I believe it will certainly provide enough noise to "burn it in", it may leave your cantilever with a permanent lean to the right!

As they say in the comics ... there's no such thing as a free lunch - so just put up with non-optimal sound for the first 100 LPs or so!   :)
