upgrading cd player
« on: 18 Feb 2006, 05:59 am »
Hello
I have been thinking about doing some work on my cdp, it is quite old but sounds pretty good, it is a harmon kardon 7600 mk 11, does anyone have any ideas about where to start, the clock, the caps? or would buying a dac be the answer. Are the upgrade parts here in Australia?

Hi,

You could try one of these inexpensive dacs.  They ship from china i think?  I would try the $175us one.

ERS on the capacitors and ICs of the CD player is one of the cheapest upgrades I know you can do. By putting bits of ERS on the parts - it lowers background noise and increases dynamics.
