I just picked up 6 pieces of the 2" 8lb. rock wool and 2 pieces of the 703 OC 2" 3lb FRK (althought the reciept say 1.5"ASJ, it measures 2"). I am putting the rock wool stacked 2 high in the corners directly behind the speakers, 1 piece on the wall behind the equip/speakers, and 1 piece behind my head on the far wall from the speakers (I sit about 3' from this wall). The 2 703s are located at the first reflection points. Right now I simply have everything sitting in its location, not mounted, framed, or covered. The improvement is immediate, I thing the piece on the rear wall behind my head may be making the biggest impact. My questions are:
1) Does this sound like a reasonable setup? (i don't want to play with it too much since it is not covered yet)
2) Should I remove the foil from the 703? Right now the foil is facing the wall since I am trying to asorb high frequencies and not reflect them.
BTW, this is my 2 channel setup, the room is 12.5'X10.5' set up with the equipment/speakers on a 10.5' wall with the primary listening position at the oppsite end of the room. Running a RWA modded SB3, Onix SP3, and HornShoppe Horns, no sub.
Thanks,
Ed
