This Sunday, January 29th
3:00 PM
Kirkwood Auditorium (same as before)
"Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue" is the theme
From what my brother tells me, a highlight of the concert will be Blue Shades.  This is a very cool piece of music written with jazz colorations and a smattering of impressionism as well.  It features a clarinet soloist.  I don't know anything else about this particular concert yet.  I'll post more as I learn more.  Mark and his wife play in this ensemble as you may recall.

Any takers?

I may be interested, this is my weekend off and I am trying to shore up my plans. Trying to balance family, friends, girls and co workers. I really need a real job

Yep, the little woman has been walking bow-legged for a few weeks now. Seems to me I saw a commercial that said if it lasts more than 4 hours I needed to do something......I'm feeling a littl.e .. , l,i..t,.e hEA..de..d.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on Sunday. Wish I could though, the program looks like it should be a good one. Count me in on the next one.

Thanks for coming out to the concert!  Great to have friendly faces in the audience and the group had some pretty good moments.  The next concert will be in March and features:

Toccata Marziale……………………………..........…Vaughan Williams
Irish Tune from County Derry and Shepard's Hey….Grainger
  Symphony for Band…………………………..........…Hindemith
  Four Scottish Dances…………………………..........Malcom Arnold

These are definitely "audiophile" approved pieces.  The Hindemith and Arnold pieces are great war-horses.  I'll make sure I get some tickets for the group and keep you posted as we approach the concert.

Thanks again and I hope you liked the concert.

Awesome show Mark! The Bacchanale gave me visions of Steve Reeves' sword and sandal flicks!
Looking forward to the next one.
