Hi

I've just taken delivery of a new B100.
The Speaker terminals on the rear have plastic covers - neither of my sets of cables fit.
How do I remove the plastic covers?
Or get around this problem?

Thanks

What type of connectors are you using?

Large Spades

I have some cheap alternative with small spades that I can now use to do burn-in. They are definitely on the bright side.
The large spades on my better cables (fuller better balanced sound) just will not go down the hole.
Do I need to re-terminate the Amp end of my better speaker cables with bananas? What bananas would you suggest?

Thanks

According to the manual for my 4B-SST the termanials will accept up to 5/8" spades and I assume your B100 is the same; but I looked at the online manual and it is not specified what maximum size the B100 will accept.   I have 5/8" spades on my cables and had a very difficult time connecting; to the point where I thought I needed re-termination with bananas or smaller spades.  After some trial & error I discovered that they did eaisly fit; just needed to align with the slots properly.  If you do need to re-terminate my preference would be smaller spades; just seem to have a tighter connection IMO.

Hi eril,

Here is the link to the 1/4 nd 3/8 inch Spades we use -
http://www.bryston.ca/spade.html

There is a slot in the Plastic cover which allows the Spade to fit snug.

The plastic is required for electrical standards - prevents shorting.

The other option is an expandable Banana-

Thanks James

Last night I turned the B100 off with the remote, then off at the wall.
This morning it is dead! No lights, no nothing.
What can this be?
Please help.

Thanks

Thanks James.
I am in New Zealand.
I just got it yesterday from Syntec International, your importers.
I don't believe they know anything about the gear.
I await your advice.
