Cornet II layout
« on: 20 Jan 2006, 12:11 am »
This is my first time posting here.  :) I have nearly all the parts gathered for my Cornet II but am scratching my head about what to do for a chassis. I’ll be using 4 x 40uF/370vac and 1 x 20uF/600v motor run oil capacitors for the PS filtering, so I’ll need a larger chassis than the recommended Lansing or Hammond enclosures. I’ll likely make a simple wood and metal chassis and, with the appropriate routing of wires, mount the power switch/inlet on one end and the mono/stereo switch and input/output jacks on the other.

Would I gain anything by using this as an opportunity to move the transformer farther from the circuit board, though still on the same chassis? Or should I keep the chassis the same dimensions as the circuit board and make the base taller to accomodate the 5 oil caps? :?

Any other suggestions with regard to layout welcome.

Thanks.
