Thanks for the reviews guys.  I would have amazon'd unheard.  Now I guess I too will wait for the DVD-A of the original.
By the way has anyone got a review of Tate's DVD-A?
I have read a couple, but I gotta get another perspective.

Geez,
I consider OpMC one of the finest albums of the 80's (along with "reign in blood", "master of puppets" among others). A true masterpiece.

The idea of OpMCII is almost as bad as Star Wars I-II&III...
These guys have burned out the candle of inspiration long ago.
All that's left are rehab and shrink billls that need to be paid...  :o

I was also quite disappointed.

Definitely not in the same ballaprk as the original, but I wouldn't flame it like Tim S. did.

Yeah I may have been a little harsh, but it really was not very good. . .

Tate's solo CD isn't too bad.  Not a stroke of genius, but worth a listen.  I have the DVD-A and the s/q isn't too bad.

Sadly, Operation Mindcrime II ended up completely sucking ass. :x   Guess I shouldn't have expected otherwise.  Another $14 down the drain.  Unfortunately, I bought the new Blackmore's Night CD at the same time, and it pretty much sucked, too. :?

I have listened to it quite abit as well. It seems slightly shallow in sound performance :( . The songs seem to be a mix of the 1st MC, Empire, and several of the last. I saw them with Judas Priest here in Reno. Quite frankly, even as the opening act with the usual half volume and sound quality, there were much better than Priest  . Their live sound is still deadly accurate, precise, and musically at a different level than most. It was funny hearing alot of the crowd say "Oh sure, I am just here for the Priest", and then hear QR blow the Priest away :o .
I will be going to the show when it gets here, as they are still one of the best quality rock groups out there, and especially here where the CA concerts usually spill over to my shagrin  .
