This is potentially good news for QR fans- they'll be back with a sequel to their finest album.  Supposedly it will reveal Mary's killer and wrap up loose ends with "Dr. X", who'll be voiced by Dio!

Yes!!
As an ex-Bellevueite, I am a huge fan.  Do you think they will tour in Mongolia?
When does this come out?

April 11th, or so the pre-order says.  I've been a big fan pretty much since day one for them.

Not sure about the Mongolian tour, though.

    LIVE TO ROCK
    Get your heart pumpin'
    Get your feelings right
    Give your soul rockin'
Give your body to the night
If ya got nothin' to live for
Just let me hear you say
    Live to rock
    Rock to live
    Live to rock
    Rock to live
    If your hand's shakin'
    And your teeth clench tight
    Here's your chance take it
    Rock and roll all night
Come on now live it up
    Don't stand there alone
Come on now get it up
    Let's hear ya sing along
    Live to rock
    If you're near breakin'
And you're not so sure you're alive
    Get yourself some serious fun
    Get your ass in overdrive
Live it up, all night live it up, help me
    Live to rock

Funny- I thought I put "Bad Time Coming" on the original Metallicus.  But looking at the copy by the PC I can see I didn't.

But where the heck is Chris DeGarmo? They can't do Mindcrime 2 without him. I'll probably still buy it and then be very disappointed just as I've been in most of their post-Empire albums. Sigh. . .

Yeah, it sucks that DeGarmo isn't with them.  In the past he wrote with them but didn't tour.  Let's hope that's the case here.

I saw them live without him and Wilton picked up the slack capably.  It's in the writing that they miss him.

Rob,
I put in Metallicus 1 in 2 days ago.  My, Mongolian 50 something, maid was dusting my stereo when it was thumping away.  Not near Arena levels but just enough that my mom would have been cringing.  The kids seemed to like it, esp since they were hyped up and jumping all over the living room.
Sign me up for #2.
I do hope Chris has some input as well.

I saw Queensryche  a few months ago in NYC they did Mindcrime in full with actors on the stage -IT was killer ! We did find out what happend to Mary that night & they did a few tunes from the new mindcrime.
I am in need on a new CD of Mindcrime mine is trashed BUT I am wating for a DVD-A of it & hope they put it out on DVD-A when the new one hits .
I think Mindcrime would make a great surround mix with all the FX .
Empire sounds great on DVD-a so I hope it see one soon .

Yeah, I've been hoping/wishing for a DVD-A of Operation Mindcrime for quite awhile.  I suspect that among their core fans it's the favorite album.  Although I wasn't too impressed with the sonics of Empire...a sort of unimaginative MC mix, IMOHO.  Plus I don't care all that much for it as a record.  Still decent, but I prefer their older stuff. :)

I will pick it up in the next day or two.

I just listened to Operation Mindcrime start to finish and continue to love it!

I got a copy of Mindcrime 2 over the weekend. For those considering it, I can tell you it should be an easy decision, well ok maybe not so easy. As I see it you have two worthwhile options. Option 1 don't buy it. Option 2 buy it and then burn it in a 1000 degree fire before listening to it. Option 1 is easier but option 2 might be more appropriate. To be clear, the album is bad. I loved the first one and their earlier work. Even Empire was ok. Since then they have been going downhill and with this they go underground. The plot is bad, the music is bad and the singing is bad. The thing it reminded me most of was Jesus Christ Superstar (which for what it is, is ok, but it is not what I was looking for here). I have trouble figuring out if the worst part was bringing in Ronnie James Dio to sing the part of Dr. X or the confusion near then end where Geoff Tate's wife sings the part of ??? and then Pamela Moore sings the part of Mary. I suppose if I listened more closely I could figure it out but I'm not sure it is worth it.

I was also quite disappointed.

Definitely not in the same ballaprk as the original, but I wouldn't flame it like Tim S. did.
