XLR - better sound?
« on: 13 Jan 2006, 05:33 am »
Can anyone give me a wiring diagram so that I can take a output from an RCA socket into the XLR input of my 7B SST?

How will the wiring be made?

I am currently using RCA to RCA cables.

Will I hear any sound improvements?

Dear Caleb,

Better use the RCA input, The input stage make this signal differentieel after the opampmodule by a second opamp to invert fase.

If you still want to try, solder the positive side of tha RCA to PIN2 of the XLR. The ground on PIN1. Also make a bridge between PIN1 and PIN3 tot. You short the inverted input to ground with this bridge! This will work.

Good luck,
Bas
