Anyone still enjoying the stock or Vinnie modded Sharp? I continue to be amazed by this thing and am actually kind of afraid to change amps and lose the sound. It drives my GR Research Paradox 3s with ease and the bass response and openess of the music is phenomanal IMO. Anybody find anything better sounding in a reasonably priced integrated that beats it? I still have a NIB one that's going to Vinnie for mods end of the month. :hyper:

Check Ebay. As Vinnie says: "The EX-111 is unbelievably good for the money, and when it was sold at $99, was the biggest bargain that I've ever seen in this industry! "

I've got a stock one in a bedroom system, running a pair of DIY cable's kit 41's.  Best $300 system anywhere.  Even if it didn't have great sound quality, the remote, tuner, sleep timer, and alarm make it killer clock radio. I wouldn't mind having another one.  I saw a refirb on ebay a few weeks ago that was the same with the addition of a minidisc player. Would be cool if you were into minidiscs.

I replaced my vintage ( 1980 ) NAD amp & pre with the Sharp in the excerise room and it was a vast improvement ... more punch & clarity .
Maybe it's just a better match w/ the AR 312s . Low wattage + high efficiency = great sound ?

I've been running one in my office for a while.  However, I just bought a Squeezebox which has a remote and volume control.  I bought an Eastern Electric Minimax tube amp to make things simpler.  I'm experimenting with tubes now.

I too have the KIT41's and they sound excellent with the Sharp.  The tube amp beats it hands-down in midrange but the Sharp has better PRAT and bass... (using the stock cheapo tubes)  I just got some new tubes today that I think will let the amp shine like I know it can... I've heard it before so I know what to expect.  The EE is an $1,100 amp (I didn't pay that but, that's the MSRP) and I'll have $150 worth of tubes in it... The Sharp retailed for $400 or so?  and I paid much less for this too... But still, the Sharp has the value advantage.... the EE sounds more like real music, though.

I'll have a freshly modified (by RWA) SB3 and an unmodified SB3 that I'll be comparing also.... with the new tubes... wow, I just realized I've got a lot of listening to do! ;)

Thanks, ETR for the great find on Sharp stuff...
