What do you listen to when all else fails? I need some new music to listen to. CDs I've listened to most in the past 3 decades:
Pat Metheny 'Off Ramp'
Jimmy Smith 'Organ Grinder Swing'
Dire Straits  'Love Over Gold'
Dire Straits 'Dire Straits'
Miles Davis 'Kind Of Blue'

Excellent sonics and music :hyper:

Eric,
From your list I see Jimmy Smith....good stuff, excellent artist. Sticking with the organ, I'd suggest two cds by
Jack McDuff.....very similar to Jimmy Smith.[/list:u]
Either or both are excellent, toe-tapping music.[/list:u]
    [/list:u]
      [/list:u]
        Enjoy the music.... [/list:u]

Judas Priest & Queensryche have a couple in my top 10 most played ever, too.  As far as recent ones, "New Favorite" by Alison Krauss is working its way up the list.  Liz Phair's "Whitechocolatespaceegg" will probably make it as well.

My number one album/cd has to be "Having a Rave Up with The Yardbirds"  I got it on vinyl while in high school in the 1960's.   I was in a garage band at the time and the Yardbirds were our heroes.  I've listened to it on vinyl and cd ever since.  I now have a German pressed CD which I listen to at least once a month.  I never tire of it.

      Rolling Stones "Hot Rocks."
This or Queen "Jazz" was my very first album and these were my only albums for about a year. I probably listened to them 5 times a week during that first year.

      Hey, neat post  :thumb:

In the last 4 years since it was released, I think 'America: A Tribute to Heroes' has been the fave.

They rushed to release it so fast after 9/11 that they didn't have time to screw with it post-production...and it was minimally miked to begin with. Lousy occasion, but great music.

Far and away, Miles Davis   "Kind of Blue"  I've worn out a half dozen vinyl copies.
It has a become a refuge when life is too complicated.
