I have a dedicated 20 amp circuit.  Everything in my home theater is plugged into this circuit, except my SVS sub, which is plugged into another circuit.  The SVS sub causes a ground loop.  What's the easiest way to get rid of the loop?  I could run another power wire to the SVS sub to put it on the circuit.  Alternately, I could get some type of DC stopper.  How have others attacked this problem?

If the hum is coming through the sub you could simply set the x-over on it to be below 60hz, that would stop it reproducing the troublesome frequency. If the sub uses a 3 pin plug on the power cord try using a 3pin to 2 pin adaptor, that will often remove the problem. Another solution is to run a wire from the casework of one of your components to the casework on the sub amp, that would bring both ground potentials to the same level. All else failing just run a long power cord from the 20amp circuit directly to your sub.

I'd just use a cheater plug.  When I had an Audio Research pre and Parasound amp I had to do this. I asked an old friend who's an EE if there's any danger like I've read about. He said "something would have to go very very wrong" and "don't even worry about it".
