I was saddened today when I heard that R.E. Designs is closing shop. Other life priorities take precedent over a part-time business. I wish you well R.E. Designs. My prayers include you. God Bless.

Yes I will be ceasing manufacturing, but I will be here to service all warranty and non warranty repairs and do upgrades. I have a very loyal base of customers and I have no plans on leaving them high and dry.
For the long time customers of R.E. Designs I will be offering them electrolytic capacitor replacement service as the unit reaches 15 years of age. Electrolytic capacitors have about a 15 year life span and this is the main cause of faliure in most of the older well designed solid state amps.
My thanks to all of the R.E. Designs customers who have allowed me to serve them over the past and in the future.

P.S. I will be making two more SCPA 1 pre amps and that will be it.

Dan,

The real loss is to the audio community. I do hope you'll still be here on AudioCircles to give us a stiff kick in the arse when required.
Dan, in many ways you are a unique combination of competent (and ofttimes brilliant) engineering  mixed with the marketing and political savvy of a turnip.:o

as ever,
Paul

Oh Yeah, I'll stop in from time to time, if only to remind chair guy that he can't repeal the laws of physics. If I can be of help in the Lab forum, you know how to get in touch with me. Now;back to boiling my turnips

Geez, you guys make it sound like the guy is dying!  :P

Alas, this is what happens when you sell cables in ziplock baggies.  If Dan sprung for the purple velvet and gold lame rope tie bags and raised the price 100 times he would be riding high today.  *sigh*

So does this mean there will be a big sale on chicken fat? What about the virgin girls?

Any chance of a SonicRock Dealership here in Swampscott?  The hell with this manufacturing stuff, I need to make some easy money.

Does this elevate my amps to collectible status now? :)

Good luck to you and and while you are providing service for the amps, I'm hoping to never need it. So far they have been rock solid and I am still very happy with how they sound.

Actually if you collect 10 pair you are entitled to an all expense paid visit to the Iraqi Hilton for one week. Second prize is two weeks at the Iraqi Hilton.       Seriously, thanks for the complement.

Dan,

My LNPA 150s have performed flawlessly and I have no desire to change.  I respect your decision to move on to more important matters and wish you the very best.

I hope you don't become a stranger. We need to be reminded on how we may break the laws of physics.  Wish you all the best!
