Just curious...'inverted dome' vs 'cone'

So what's the dif? Isn't an inverted dome a cone?

Seems like a dome would better disperse the sound, but I suppose that can be bad, because of increasing room reflections.

And aren't those hi frequency waves supposed to beam anyway?

Confused.....as always!

I really do not know the answer to your question ,but if you do not get a satisfactory answer here post it at Audio Asylums Speaker BB.

I use NEARs which are very similar to an Inverted dome.If you think of the area it seems the waves would bounce slighty off the inner curvature allowing for more diffusion of the sound being produced where as a regular Dome would go straight out in every direction.

That's just a hunch! 8)
