Five grand may seem like a lot for speaker wires but it includes a nice block of wood with a hole in it with each cable.

Do people actually spend that money on cables

AFAIK they must have too much money to waste imo. I could probably justify a new pair of speakers for that price but not cables.

I use mostly bolder cables which i bought on special. Good enough for me.

Wow. That's ridiculous. I thought I was in trouble when my fiance heard I spent $250 on a 8' pair of Kimber 4TCs!

You spend all this time/money/effort/love on getting your room setup just right and then introduce something like this that not only could tarnish the important, high current link between your amp and speaker with a cable like this. I really don't understand why anyone would want to put any passive comonents into their speaker cables.

IMHO, $10K would be better spent like this:

1. Professional room analyzation followed by...
2. $1-3K in room treatments.

Leaving the rest for...

3. MUSIC!
