Any Winslow Burhoe Fans Out Here?

Anyone a fan of Winslow Burhoe designed speakers? I not sure why he never got much press but I just retired my Burhoe Crimsons, the first pair of speakers I ever owned, and was wondering if there was anyone still using a pair of Blues, White, Greens etc.

I once tried the Direct Acoustics Silent Speaker II. It was just fair with very boomy bass. The treble and midrange were good but not superior to other speakers in the price range, $500-$550. The worst part of the audition was Mr Burhoe stiffed me on the transaction, $550 sent and $0 back, after returning the speakers. YMMV

I bought a pair of Burhoe Blue speakers back in '78. Loved 'em! I still have them but the woofers need replacing. The voice coil on one separated and the other got torn by our dog. I still have the speakers but not the dog. I had replaced the woofers with a pair from Radio Shack but as you might guess not quite the same. Any suggestions as what to replace the woofers with? I'm not currently using the Blues but would like to use them in a secondary listening room with my other vintage equipment.
