I am in a rather small room 12x12 and about to purchase a pair of 4.0's.
Which subwoofer is  the best with these speakers?  Under $600 please.

I am sure you can match the finish of 4.0's to this lil thing

I would not even bother with stereo subs
I am using the original sub from VMPS powered by an unused receiver (recommended 100 watts minimum)

You will be able to grow into the SVS 20-39. It is the best sub for the amount of money you want to spend.

A few ideas come to mind for $600 or less:  Hsu Research VTF-2, Adire Rava, or the SVS subs (they have a powered cylinder and a box sub in this range).  I don't think the VMPS would come in under $600 unless you already have an extra amp and an X-over handy.

I'll give a plug for the Rava.  As usual, the pictures don't do it justice.  I was pretty amazed with this sub.  It is well built, heavy, sounds great and is only $400.  I don't know how they do it.  I got -3db with a 20Hz test tone, in room on the first set up.   If all goes well, I'll be getting a second in the future.

I'd think there can't be a lot of room to make a profit off the Rava at that price.  It is an amazing deal.
