I just got my new Yamaha 5860 all hooked up. It ROCKS! All the speakers sound comes incredible, stuff I've never heard in movies is there! wow! BUT.
I've got a rather old MTX sub. It has 2 RCA inputs and/or 2 "satellite" inputs that one can run the speakers wires through and then out to the speakers.
When I do the YPAO the yamaha setup it seems to find the sub and "tunes" it but there is no sound once a movie or music is playing.
Right now, I've got it patched from the Yamaha Pre-sub out. The amp only has one RCA type outlet so I took a Y and hooked that up to the sub. Again, during the YPAO test the Yamah finds it and makes a minimal sound but then during a movie or music... no sound.
I've also hooked it up running through the speakers and no sound, like it is not getting a signal or a minimal one?
Any thoughts. It did work excellent with the old Technics I was using.
