Question about Fet/valve preamp
«

Hello, I have an older FET/valve hybrid pre with a phono section. I don't have a TT so I was wondering if I could just remove the 2 tubes of the phono section. This little thing runs pretty hot with the 4 tubes, hence the question.

Hi:
I don't recommend removing the tubes in older FetValve preamps as the power supply is balanced for all of the tubes and Fets in both circuits.

do not run older Fet Valve amplifiers with tubes removed as that can cause the power supply voltages to go too high and possibly cause circuit damage.
