Hello everyone,
For the past two years, I have been trying to get a weekend gathering together. Well, the time has come. I am promoting this as our "Grand Opening" of our new facility.

There will be a lot of unique, interesting pieces available for audition. Below is a link to the details page.

Everyone is welcome to stop in. I only ask that those who have interest in attending, please let me know here on the circle either by posting to this thread or a PM. If I could get an idea of what systems would be more popular, I will be sure to burn these in "as a system" so please let me know your thoughts.

Hope to see you then   Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

Hello Again Everyone,
I am beginning to think this date might be a bit too close to Christmas? I am thinking I will still have the event on these dates but have the "Official" grand opening sometime after the first of the year.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'd drive down from Rochester if I could, but unfortunately I'll be in Europe that week and I won't be back until the 18th so neither of those dates would work for me.

Hey Bill, do you think the Usher D-2's will be back from my house in time for your Grand Opening  :rotflmao:  :rotflmao:  :rotflmao:

Seriously, it looks like you've got one heck of a lot of cool gear to play with. Wish I could make it up but alas, I am currently chained to my desk trying to work my way out of hock after my last turntable purchase.

Have fun!

Beverages:  We will have pizza, donuts, soda and coffee available. Keep in mind, we have the best pizza in the US.

Maybe one day I will make it over for a visit, but the thought of going into central or western NY in December again is not very appealing.

Best of luck on the Grand Opening!

Hey Bill,

Out of town holiday guests will be coming in that weekend and I must agree with George about a drive to central New York in December being dicey.  I once got stuck in Syracuse over St. Patricks Day weekend when it snowed over 60 inches during the weekend.  I didn't mind too much since I needed that extra day to recover but they even closed 81 for a spell.  Are you on lake affect snow zone as well?  I do want to hear your 300b push pull though...

Ah, the blizzard of 1993.

I was in school back then in Rochester, NY and it took us over 7 hours to drive a distance we normally covered in about 1 hr on the first day of the storm.

The next morning we drove from between Rochester/Syracuse to Daytona Beach, FL. Interstate 81 was indeed closed, but that didn't stop a car full of crazy college students wanting to make it spring break.

George,

That puts me a few years ahead of you.  In my days in the early 80's it was Ft. Lauderdale that was the place to be.....

I remember that storm all too well. I was a sophmore at RIT then, and I didn't go anywhere for spring break.

Wow, everyone remembers the blizzard of 93. That year was legendary as it we had a major snow storm every Tuesday for about 4-5 weeks. I recall I had about 3 feet here in my area.

I'll be in Europe that week

Europe? You can go there anytime, where are your priorities   Just kidding. Sounds like a wonderful trip. I hope it it for pleasure.

I am in a VERY large Italian and both my wife and I are from very large Italian families. When people are able to make it this way, I will have some pizza here for your chewing pleasure. Just for that, I will also have to have some Spedies here also.

Hmmmm... people are afraid of a little snow? :D  Hell, a foot of snow around here is barely an inconvienence but when I lived in Virginia, we had about 2" once and it closed everything down for two days.

No lake effect, just good old fassion storms that linger for days.
Push-pull amps--- They'll be here. I am getting some hours on them now. Later today I will be connecting the VH Audio AIRSINE power cords to them to let everything break in together.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I will still make the session available for anyone who wants to stop by (and locals) but will hold off on the official opening untill it is better accomadating for everyone.

Bill,

I love the AirSine power cords, I hope they do for you what they have done for me in my system - not cheap, but worth every penny to me.

I have no doubt you can have some good italian food up there, but I am going to sound like a downstate snob and claim that I have NEVER had pizza as good as the NYC area any place else in the country.  But who knows, there is a first time for everything...

Bill...pizza is hard to beat in NYC.  But upstate/western NY beats NYC every time with Buffalo wings...

I will admit that the pizza found in NYC is awsome. I lived there for a few years (Floyd Bennett Air Field at the end of Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn). There was this little pizza joint next to the school I was attending that had one of those old fashion brick ovens (which we have a lot of up here) and the pizza was among the best I have ever had.

count me in-a little snow wont stop me-alot might

its not the hard snow season yet so it should be a good date

we have decent pizza in my area, best local foods are salt potato's and any of the award winning hot dogs, hoffman or stiegerwalds(won best in usa a few years ago)and the many fine pasta places-

was the 93 storm the one that dropped 48 inch's in 48 hrs-i remember playing cat toss that day with my roomates cat-you throw it out the back door as high as you can and when it lands it runs thru the snow back for another toss, cat loved it believe it or not-i might have been drunk but i still think the cat had fun because he would rub on my leg till i tossed it again-
