Guys, please give me some advice...

the more I search and read the more confused I get.

I recently purchased some new Tyler acoustics system II mains, linbrook center and some custom surrounds.   I've had them since late August and have not upgraded my electronics from my previous system.   I'm running those speakers currently with a Sony STR-DA777es receiver until I can figure out what amp and pre/pro combo to go with.

Up to this point, I've been almost 100% hometheater but I want to dig back into my music collection.... However, I do admit that my emphasis is definitely HT.

I've been leaning towards the Cary Cinema 5 with an Arcam AVP700 pre/pro.

I was also curious about the Butler Audio 5150 but I read in the archives here that it might be thin on the bottom in, which wouldnt be good for my HT experience.

A friend recommends finding an old Legacy powerbloc 5 amp which was made by CODA.

Bottom line is that I want these speakers to come alive and I have read a lot about these SEA drivers and millenium tweeter needing special consideration when it comes to SS amps and electronics...

Thanks in advance for all advice and suggestions.

Have you thought about a pre with a HT pass through and an amp or do you want to upgrade your HT also?  If you are happy with the sony for HT you should consider an integrated or pre/amp for 2 channel.

I only heard that tweeter once and I thought it needed a tube.

I want to upgrade my hometheater and I want a 5-channel amp and pre/pro setup.  I dont want to do that whole separate amp deal.  I want one amp that does HT and two-channel as best as possible.
