This is the Shanling that was originally introduced as the Music Hall.

Good out of the box.

Much better with the op-amps upgrades (which anyone can do, quickly voiding the warranty.) Proven upgrades are are available (check 'Gon) and it is solid as a transport.

In other words, it could last a bit before being replaced.

if you call and ask nicely, you can get is for $299. B-stock for $249.

Built like a brick for this ridiculously low price.

It works well in my SET system.

As to the ONIX CD Player my buddy just got one to replace his AMC.

It has an IEC slot to swap power cords which is nice. The remote is horrible which isnt a concern if you use a universal. I miss the time elapsed and time remaining functions. It's pretty heavy for such a small box and a good value.

Full disclosure, I am the seller. This is really an incredible CDP, especially at this price. I have owned the much hyped Ah! Tjoeb, and prefer this BADA. The sound is quite close, but the build quality is much better.

I highly recommend the Eastsound E5 CDP. I bought one several months ago. It's about $700 with and excellent highend PC included. It has discrete class A analogue single ended output, and balanced opamp output too. You can read all about it on this thread:
