Best single stage wipe on finish?

Hi folks.

I'm dizzy!  Dizzy from reading all the controversy I see on the internet regarding: Tung oil... or not to Tung oil?   Linseed Oil ... or not to Linseed oil?
and the endless assortment of 'in-betweens" that claim a miracle concoction of solvents, driers, varnishes and such.

What say you?
I'm looking for some good honest user feedback on wipe on finishes.
I've used Watco Danish Oil in the past with mixed results.  I question its durability.   On the other hand I've read a lot of good things about polymerized Linseed and Tung oils. Who makes the best brew? or have you brewed your own with oil, solvent and varnish?

My application will be a kitchen table and chairs....and if that goes well I have a nice set of cherry speaker cabinets that are up next!

Your thoughts appreciated.

Best regards.

I’ve had very good luck with Bartley’s Gel Varnish, you can use it by it’s self or put down a coat of tung oil and than Bartley’s, either way it looks great and is very easy to work with. I used Bartleys gel on my DIY cherry speakers, pic is in my gallery.

Several coats of Watco work very good. Let them dry for a couple of days and then topcoat with Minwax Wipe on polyurethane. A couple of coats will give you a very durable finish. Use 400 steel wool in between coats.  If touchup is needed in the future it's a piece of cake. Been doing this for years.
