Is that the Black Hole 5 beside the No Rez in the photo?  Do you find it out performs the BH 5?

That is Blackhole 5 next to it.

In some applications I like the No Rez better. Small speakers, sealed boxes might favor the No Rez.

For subs, any low frequency drivers in ported enclosures, I might favor BH-5.

My subs are sealed enclosures with two 10" drivers.  One fires up into the cabinet the second fires out the front.

Hi Danny,

Can you tell me how much each sheet of no rez weighs?

Blackhole 5 sells for $150au per sheet in oz.  I would like to dampen my current speakers.

Regards

About 4 lbs per sheet or 1.8 kilograms.

Well I started installing sheets of No Rez in my Sub box last night.

For me I preferred using my table saw to make my cuts as my razor blade wasn't duing a nice cut job.

I have many pics taken and my box should be ready to test Friday with the Gr sub/pr.

Does the way open cell material behaves add volume to an enclosure?  I'm worried that adding No Rez would decrease the internal volume of the cabinet and how that might effect the speaker driver.

It will not add or decrease volume.

The adding of open cell foam slows down the air flow and increases the enclosure size. While the damping layer takes up air space and decreases it. It comes out to be just about a wash.
