I thought I would try and compile a list of all the members who were planning on attending the Midwest Audio Fest in Lima OH next April.

Since Marbles and Jackman have mentioned something about buying rounds...

Probably a little too far from Cypress... What about 10,000 miles or so?

I'm there...I think I'm buying round # three, IIRC  :-)  probably more than that one too, if things get as wild as I plan  8)

Man, I'd like to go... it's just so dang far! And it's not even near an airport. Lima... is that where beans come from?

Who is driving from somewhere near a major airport to the event?

Which airport is closest, in case I get a wild hair...?  I just got back from Seattle which was a long, long trip...mostly British Airways problems, but I'm 8 hours ahead timewise, so 8000 miles, depends on how the crow flies.

For you and JohnR, the closest is probably Toledo, or Dayton, but the best is Fort Wayne.  I'm 75 minutes from the Lima convention center, and I can put you guys up Friday night and take you over to Lima and back.

JohnR,

I will probably fly into Detroit and then drive down.
There weren't any direct flights from Houston into a closer airport.
Plus I can use some ff miles this way.

My other choice is to fly into Louisville and force one of my buddies to go, too.

Update:

Continental is now flying directly into Dayton.
$253 r/t from Houston.

Possible attendee.  Planning trip to Bahamas.  Need to figure whether it will conflict or be too close...

I love travel, but I can't afford it and/or can't take the time off.  Aside from the huge NYC thing, is there anything else in the Northeast I can drive to from Boston?  Maybe something that I haven't heard about?

JohnR, you may be able to get a cheap flight to Ohare or Midway in Chicago.  If so, I'll be happy to pick you up and drive you to Lima.  It's on the way for me!  Let me know.

Actually,  I'd have to look a bit more at the registration forms,  etc.,  but since it doesn't interfere with the Montreal show,  I'm thinking about attending and exhibiting as well.

Anybody with some more detailed info ?

Later,

Klaus

Wow, thanks Marbles and Jackman! I'm going to look into the tickets.

I have to warn you though, I will bore you on the drive, all I ever talk about is amplifiers and speakers... oh wait, that should be OK for you guys
