ISO Bugle upgrade expertise

I recently auditioned a friend's "stock" Bugle in my system and was astounded at the upgrade it provided vs the (supposedly good) phono stage in my ca. 1990 NAD preamp.  I'll be purchasing the half-kit, and the power supply half-kit.

Since I'm going to solder this together I'd like to go ahead and purchase upgraded parts, as needed, that would have an appreciable impact on the unit's sound.  Although the stock Bugle amazed me, I'm thinking that I might as well get any upgrade parts now rather than later.  I'll be using the Bugle in the default gain mode, with a MM cartridge.

I've been through all 22 pages of posts in here, seeking to glean information about this, that I can understand (meaning this certainly won't be my first soldering experience--but I have no vocabulary in electronics).

Can anyone provide advice for me in this regard?  I think I can move ahead if I have a list of any parts "not" to buy from the kit's part list, along with a list of the upgraded parts I should buy instead (along with which parts substitute for which, if it isn't self evident).

Thanks very much for any help.

Jim
