Bella SP Tech (SP/AV-1) speakers - with PICs
« on: 28 Sep 2005, 06:54 pm »
I wanted to post some pictures of these speakers to give a better indication of their true size. Keep in mind that the speakers shown are in raw MDF and will be finished in a few weeks after the crossover design is finalized. The pair shown will be finished in Red Birch with a satin black front baffle!

Notice the 12AX7 tube on the top of the speaker in the first picture.

We only have 3 pair left at the introductory price.

Please don't mind the $4 garage sale Pioneer amp in the picture but we have not yet moved any of our electronics to the new showroom. I only set this system up to have some tunes while cleaning and setting up.

Hi Rim,
Obviously the tube on the speaker is for size comparison. The cabinet are the same size and configuration as SP Tech's Timepieces but without the layering within the construction.

What is it you are curious about?

By the way, here is a picture of some boxes that were made up for prototyping the crossovers. Production units will be constructed of either Birch ply or solid hardwood. The cable shown in this picture is a basic 12 awg speaker cable and NOT what will be used in production units.

Bill,

I thought you were incorporating some kind of tubed buffer on your speakers.  :o I am keeping my eyes on this speaker.  As you know I am looking for a bedroom set up, but I am in no hurry since I am still working on removing the Bose which was part of the wedding dowery.  I am leaning toward efficient speakers with flea powered SET or battery powered arrangement.  I am waiting to hear more about your Musica Bella 300b amp.  I also want to know more about the push/pull mono block version with these speakers too.  I figure you may offer package deal for repeat customers if they match well.  Keep them coming.

Hi Rim,
Absolutely I will be offering further package pricing on many of the exclusive products carried. Repeat customers are usually the best way to get feedback as well so taking care of them is always a good thing. I would say 50% of my business is now repeat customers adding to their systems.

The Bella 25 (push-pull 300Bs) is still a ways off but I wil keep my website and the circle up to date as things progress.

It is the Bella speakers that took off faster than I expected with several inquires coming in a day and 2 pairs already presold today alone. I am playing with the "midrange" at this time to get just the sound I am looking for.

I need to add one other thing. These speakers are 90 dB but also a sealed enclosure. I have not yet run them with any low power SET units (just the 40 watt 805) but will be doing so next week when I bring the Musica Bella 8 watt SET prototypes  to the new showroom.

I don't think this combination will be enough for a main system in a larger room but for a smaller accomidation??????........ we'll just have to see.

My favorite so far is my 40 watt 805 driven by the ModWright linestage which is a combination I am eagerto hear when the Ultimate Usher D2 speakers arrive.

By the end of October, I will be running a pair of EXtreme Hurricanes into these babies. That should be interesting!
