Cable Help
« on: 17 Apr 2003, 07:51 pm »
Well, my Avantgarde Solos should be arriving somewhat soon, and I need some cabling suggestions.  I will use the stock power cords for now, but what I will need is longer interconnects (b/c no speaker cable/active)

Two options-

a) Wadia 861 straight to AGs--XLR, 2.5m prob
b) Cary 306 (or Wadia 861)-->Cary SLP98--RCA to XLR, 2.5 m

Any ideas?  I have a 1m AZ cable I really like, but 2.5m is a fortune of a lot of cables.  Any good bang for the buck cable in this length for this system?  Looking to spend less than 750.

Thank!

Kieth,

We sell Avantgardes and the best bang for the buck cable that I have found is the Audience Conductor (which is what we are using on the Solos in our store) at $210 for 2.5m XLR it is a great bargain.  I replaced Nordost Blue Heaven with the Conductor and the difference was nothing short of miraculous.  We are also using the Audience PowerChords on them as well which made a huge difference as well.  We do sell Audience so I understand if you are skeptical but I chose those cables because I think they sound the best.  If you can find a place to audition them I HIGHLY recommend them.

Best of luck,

Nathan
