These are the only cables that i have ever used and i like them very much.  i have interconnects and speaker cables.  Being curious and seeing that many members of the circle like the bolder cable nitros (which cost more), i wonder if people would think that i would get more detail from the bolder cables.  this is not a knock in any way on the reality cables because the detail and soundstage are amazing -- just curious.  i have an esoteric transport, audio note 1.1 signature dac mkII, manley stingray amp and tyler acoustic linbrooks sys II speakers.  thanks for any thoughts.

  What if you now use Gregg's Reality ICs on the Altmann, does it widen the gap between Paradisea again?

Just received Gregg's Reality ICs which I bought from Bluewax (thanks mate!) and wanted to say how well it synergised with my system. The timbral accuracy, tonal balance, neutrality, and "realism" is beyond description. Ran Gregg's ICs from my Mhdt Paradisea (WE396A tubes) to my McCormack ALD-1 and suddenly the gap between the Altmann Attraction DAC and the overachieving Paradisea suddenly narrowed. Before, I used to say that the Paradisea at 1/4 the Altmann's price performed at 2/3s of the Altmann. I think the performance factor is now 3/4!! I think Gregg has aptly named his cables "Reality" and what Gregg's ICs simply did was to restore the realism of music! I simply forgot about my system, refrained from audophilia analysis and enjoyed my music (Stacey Kent's raspy, laidback voice)! Music just sounds right! I would like to thank Bluewax for a great deal, and Gregg for a wonderful IC that has just made me connect to the music!

Good question! I will probably do a thorough A/Bing between the Altmann and Paradisea through Gregg's cables once I upgrade my battery to the RedTop. At the moment, Vinnie's RWA battery has been inadvertently drained dry and I think that is the reason why the blue LED on the Altmann is not very bright, indicating that I may not be getting the full 12v DC from the battery. I have found that a depleting battery can affect the sound of the Altmann quite a bit as the Altmann seems to thrive on a continuous and constant supply of 12v which users with the RedTop seem to be enjoying with the Altmann. I have no doubt in my mind that the Altmann is a more capable performer than the Paradisea but as your question suggested, I think the Paradisea can come closer to the Altmann's performance with proper cabling and tweaking.

I'm sure if you use not so good cable on Altmann, and use good cable on Paradisea, then the Paradisea will sound as good or better than the Altmann.
