All,

Louis and I will be bringing the Lotus Power Amp along with the new Lotus Passive Preamp and matching Lotus Platform:

http://www.redwineaudio.com/Products.html

This system will be powering the new Omega HempTone Compact 8 and HempTone 1.5 Way Speakers.

They'll also be a customized Clari-T-Amp + Omega Aperiodic 8 combo (speakers mounted on Syland Stands).

For sources, we'll have the Red Wine Modified Squeezebox 2, a Red Wine modded Toshiba dvd player, and let's not forget turntables and phono stages  from Hudson Audio Imports (for you analog lovers!   )  A battery-modded Lehmann Black Cube feeding the battery powered Lotus system is sure to grab your attention!

I'm also going to bring a Red Wine modded Teac AL700P   and a modded iPod (with new Red Wine Audio iMod)  8)

I hope many of you can meet us in Room 7924.... we're looking very forward to it!  :hyper:    :guitar:

Regards,

zybar

Vinnie,

Are you still planning on bringing the battery powered cd transport, or is that a no go?

Hi LordCloud,

It has been put on the back-burner for now in favor of the battery-modded Squeezebox 2, so it will not be at RMAF.

Hi Brad,

Details will be available soon enough...

Hi kbuzz3,

Thanks for your question:

The stock "regular" Clari-T
does not have the same level of upgrades as the Lotus.

You can think of a Lotus has a highly upgraded/customized Clari-T with the following upgrades:

-- Black Gate power supply decoupling caps soldered directly to the 12V pins of the TA2024 chip
-- Auricap input coupling caps (direct wiring from RCA jacks to TA2024 board)
-- Cardas RCA jacks and speaker binding posts
-- Larger 5Ah battery (> 2X the playtime between charges than the stock Clari-T)

And then there is the cosmetics...the Macassar Ebony enclosure, black acrylic base, gold spike feet, 12V battery gauge, etc..

Yes, the Clari-T can be upgraded to the same performance level as the Lotus ( http://www.redwineaudio.com/Clari_T_Customization.html ), but
will use a black anodized aluminum enclosure (approx 6" x 8" x 3")

Clari-T vs Lotus Amp
Hi kbuzz3,

Vinnie is right, of course.  Take a look at my recent post, Clari-T Before & After.  I referred to the same thing you're asking about.  The only difference is that I upgraded the volume control to the highly acclaimed DacT CT2 10K stepped attenuator.  It's perfect for this application.  I highly recommend the upgrades for the stock Clari-T.  If you like this amp, and it works well with your speakers, then doing the mod is a must, in my opinion.
